(9a/100) SIDE HUSTLE

Everyone needs a good side hustle - mine was selling fresh mandarins @janpowersfarmersmarkets by the bag while working as a lawyer @hsfglobal.

The “farmers market” concept was brand new in Oz in the early 2000’s and people couldn’t get their hands on the new organic produce quick enough.

We would pack two tonnes of mandarins on a Friday night, arrive at 6am on a Saturday morning and be sold out by 8am. I ended up making more $$$ from the mandarins than I did as a young lawyer… 

The mandarin adventure instilled the importance of quality, provenance and seasonality and enjoying things at their very best even if for small moments in time.
